Reviews

I purchsed these via the HmDpt box store, and I am very happy with the way that they turned out:

1. The product is specifically designed for drywall installation. They recommend that you maximize the number of studs that you secure the rail to. You do this with Rubbermaid's version of a #10-2" wood screw (using a 1/8" drill pilot hole) and beefy dry wall anchors (which use a 3/8" drill pilot hole) which take the same screw.

I like this because most offerings on line are for products which attach directly to the study in unfinished garages, but my garage is finished, so I need to account for the 1/2" of dry wall in front of the stud, and Rubbermaid has accounted for this.

2. It's easy to do. I like that they list what size drills are needed for pilot holes. You need a drill for the job, but I would also recommend a laser level and a stud finder.

3. It's really not that $$: most of the devices that hold tools from studs sell for -10 by themselves, which is the same price that Rubbermaid is selling them for. So, you're really just paying extra, or a premium, for the rail...but you get the ability to easily position each component at any point you want along the rail, and you're not locked into one position, so you can just mount the rail and fine tune positionings later, without having to wonder if all of the holes you just drilled in your drywall are actually in the right place! Very handy if the rake you want to hang is larger than you expected!

I would purchase this product again.

Easy to install. Even without wood studs this product held up a bicycle on my wall with only drywall screws.
